Equal length headers: Expected performance
Hi,
I've just fitted a set of headers to my car and apart from the obvious difference in noise there seems to be a huge gain in torque but the point where it reaches full boost has gone up from 3500 to nearer 4000. Is this expected??
Spec of my car is:
MY99
3 inch de cat full system
New age TMIC
TD05 with front entry
Induction mods
and equal length headers
Any advice appricated.
Thanks
Paul.

exactly what i found on a P1 still runing a standard VF28. Spool noticeably later, but a bigger hit of torque.
A lot depends on the header/uppipe diameter, for smallish turbos producing less than 350 BHP I think you will struggle to beat a set of ported standard headers for all round driveability. Over this time to start thinking about tubulars.
What make headers/uppipe do you have on?
