Powersteering "COOLER" pipe
I Have a 1997 UK TURBO and it has developed a powersteering fluid leak. It is coming from a TINY hole in the cooler pipe (thats what its called in the manual anyway).
It is the pipe that can be found at the front of the engine bay just behind the front grill and in front of the radiator. like a U on its side. One end comes from the power steering fluid tank and the other joins to pipes which lead to the steering cylinders i think.
Anyway, i was thinking of making a new pipe at work, but it has a green coating on the original. Is this just an anti rust/protective coat or will it be heat resistant too.
Cheers in advance

If you look at the newer cars they dont have this cooler pipe anyway, but the res does hold more fluid.
I have fited this set up on my classic P1 and works fine.
Because of this i dont think the heat will be a major issue in steering performance (although i know the fluid gets hot) so i would not worry about any particular heat resistant coating.
