Got some bad news, problems with my car and wondering if anyone can help. Driving home from work yesterday and the check engine light came on though the car was running ok, or so I thought. it wont rev over around 3250rpm below this all seems ok, after this it seems to just have no power at all, there is no signs of smoke or anything wrong under the bonnet such as a loose pipe. Any help or advice would be gratefully received, cheers Ron wrx, oh its a 95 wrx.

 

Hi mate, yep your cars gone into a safe mode. Check out the ECU diagnostics http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co.uk/ Dont be tempted to do an ecu reset just yet or you will wipe any fault history stored.

 

Ta for that, started up today and check engine light gone out though still in safe mode, reset ecu and fingers crossed all seems fine now.
