Default Lighter socket question

just tried to plug in my PDa but realised lighter socket not working on my Blobeye STi....Its a JDM so the japanese fuse box guide is not much help....i havent actually noticed anything else amiss with the electrics so unsure as to why this has happened....had a quick whizz thru the fuses and no breaks!

anyone be able to advice please?

Yes mate. If your certain the fuses are all in tact i would get behind the cigarette lighter socket and see if you have a supply there. Use a multimeter. Not got one !! Try Maplins well cheap in there.

Have you had any work done thats had the fascia off etc. I did for something and they forgot to plug it back in when they put it all back together. But it`s a right pain to get to.

I have 2 or 3 blob eye JDM's fpr sale and quite often the cigar lighter is not actually wired in. They sometimes have a black plastic dummy cigar lighter in the hole.

Dunno if it's to do with trying to discourage smoking in Japan or what. But I have seen it before a number of times.

In fact we had an inspection of a sales car by the AA or RAC on Friday on behalf of a customer and one of the engineers comments was that the cigar lighter didn't work.

He seemed Ok when l told him why.

I expect that you may need to wire it in properly yourself. Can't think why the Japanese even bother to fit the thing if it doesn't work......

its worked in the past....and yes have had the centre console apart recently but cant see anywhere there can be wires in the wrong place.....so not sure....will try the multimeter thingy tho....thanxs...
