Default do i need an uprated fuel pump?? help!!!

getting my sti 6 ecutek'd soon,my mods are just a full de-cat and panel filter..its been suggested that i should get a walbro 225 before i get mapped..any help with this as i dont wanna just buy one if i dont need one..if i do need it do i also need a fuel pressure regulator or am i ok with just a pump?? im new to the tuning game so any help much appreciated..

For safety's sake I would fit fit one, stops it leaning out at high speeds/revs.

A cheap safety option.

I have a 255 on my type ra with only a standard reg. Andy Forrest mapped the car and was not concerned I was running the oe one. Had no issues with it and i'm running approx 320 brake. He did say to make sure the pump was fitted in advance of the remap as it gives the reg time to settle in to it's new presssure/s

yep, do it. Also get it done before mapping. As said above the OE reg is OK, but some mappers prefer that you change it, see what your mapper says. If you can afford it then I would change but IMO it isn't an absolute necessity as long as it has settled in and has been mapped accordingly
