Me pipes- oooh
Can I as a'driveway mechanic' fit/change my downpipe myself? I have a jack, axlestands only.
Obviously removing the cats (for off road use only obviously!) is going to light up my dashboard- how can i get round that? Can i get away with doing this without a remap for 2 or so months?
Is the up-pipe worth changing?
How much noisier would 3" decat be compared to my 2.5"?
Ta in advance

what car is it on fella? just had my full decat fitted onto a 95 wrx and the difference is immense! lots more boost, turbo sounds lovely spooling up (at lower revs too i think) and she goes like greased poop now!

yes you can do it yourself, depending on the age of the car can take a few hours. Best thing to do is prepare by using something like wd40 or similar on the downpipe bolts beforehand (like 48hrs then 24hrs) This will help a lot (especially if it is an older car)
What car is it? If it is an early wrx then the lambada is in the headers, if its a later car then you will need a cel fix ( I believe this is just a cheap resistor)
Do a search and you can get a fitting guide on here for the classic, and also details on a cel fix.
The noise will be slightly louder (in my experience) but not overly load. However the engine will seem to growl more again in my experience. The turbo will sound great as well. The only problem is you may suffer from overboost (this would be more noticeable in winter when it is cooler)
