Hi guys
Summary
-------
Need someone who can come out and remove the remains of a snapped crank bolt whilst engine is still in car (Shogun not sccob - reasons below).
Detail
------
First off, this is to do with my shogun 4x4 (not scoob), however .. I'm desperate and the shogun forum is based in the USA, so not a lot of use.. , so .. fingers crossed again.
My crank bolt sheared off. (Yes .. I know , weird, however, I have read that it is a known problem, and is subject to recalls in USA .. sadly not here, and I have no warranty, the car is 1996 , etc .. so - I need to get it sorted myself).
I am happy (ish ?) to take the radiator off, aircon stuff off, grill and everything else to actually EXPOSE the front of the engine, and crank, however ..
I am not happy trying to get the sheared bolt out myself. I've used stud extractors, left hand drills etc on bolts before, but this is just too critical. If I mess up the threads on the crank .. well. Engine out , new crank , etc.
So - does anyone know anyone who might be ble to come out and get this out?
Thanks in anticipation. - Mark

I'm not sure about the access POV so bear with me.
Perhaps you could speak to a mobile welder. Get them to drill a 6mm flat bar and weld this to the sheared bolt. Hopefully the heat will free up the shaft and you can turn the bolt.
I've done this before on similar when access has been ok.
