Question Restoring O2 sensor thread..?

Is it possible to restore the thread on an O2 sensor boss..?

It's only the first few lands that are a bit corroded. They've been sitting in garage for a while. The remaining 3/4 looks perfect.

I hope this can be sorted as I've ported and wrapped them before noticing this..!

Have you tried winding a sensor / pinto sparkplug into it? with WD40? If possible try it from the other side.

If it doesn't go then you can tap it, you'll need a M18 x 1.5 tap

The only thing I have is a blanking plug that I didn't want to sh@g, but will give it a go. Might be able to try from inside with the plug, will give it a go.

If only I had taps that big..! Would a spark plug hole restorer be the same size thread..? I'm sure Halfrauds do them.

a spark plug thread restorer would do (if its the same thread size), other than you might be able to helicoil it and the last option could be to have some bazing dripped down the hole and then recut it with the thread restorer or tap.
