Cannot get error codes classic scooby
I have a '95 STI much modified and engine error light glows constantly. Will not pull more than 0.5bar boost before cutting fuel and standing on its nose!
I am tying to get error codes but it will not produce any.
After connecting 2 black wires and turning on ignition the fuel pump and injector relays pulse pouring fuel into the engine and thats it - No codes on engine light.
Car has been checked by 2 garages and they cannot produce codes either.
Do the main dealers have a different method of retrieving the codes?
The car has an after market air filter and there are 3 plugs hanging loose by this. They presumably connected to the original filter? Prevous owner said that engine light has shown since the filter fitted but car ran well.
Any help appreciated!

Garages usually usea select monitor to show faults.
3 wires hanging loose after fitting a filter? Should be no wires hanging loose even after loosing the airbox.
Could be that they've removed the MAF?

Think if I were you I would be trying to get hold of a standard airbox setup, fitting that with all plugs correctly connected and see what happens. Sounds like the most likely cause of the problem from what you've said.
