Default APEXI experts in here please

Hi
Lately the CEL light has been coming on in my car, but only when its boosting around 1.45. The car is setup and mapped for 1.45 with all supporting mods.

My question is why is the CEL light coming on? How can I tell using the commander handset what the light is indicating?

The inj duty is not above 85%

So what is it? Or how do I find out what it is?

Check your knock levels and airflow status...
Also check that you aren't seeing any overboost.......

Knock levels are 20 or under
Air flow peaked at about 4750 mv.

I'm not sure about the air flow reading is that high/low what should it be?

I have had this exact same problem but my car is running only 1.2 bar of boost and it only flashes on between 6 and 7k at full accelration, Even more weirdly this only occurs with less than half a tank of fuel, which i cant imagine should have any affect on the knock levels. I'm all up for ideas as my tuner has already taken ignition out and it's still happening and I don't want to move backwards by retarding ignition more at the cost of power. I run CVL turbo additive aswell for the record.

Hi rob4620

You have to remember that it may not be knock levels at all, the APEXI can flash the CEL for a few different reasons, off the top of my head
Knock
Air Flow
Inj Duty
and a couple more I cant remember.

Does the CEL flash or does it come on steady and then go off when you slow down?

Thats why I'm trying to find out how you can tell which particular reason the APEXI is turning on the CEL light.

if your airflow peaked at under 5000 then its not that that is maxed out, I think it maxes out at 5100

Cant remember of the top of my head but on the monitor setting on the commander I am sure you can see the status of the sensors. Also, you havent changed the commander to flash the cel if your knock level hits 20 have you.

Hi

Yes you can view the status of the sensors I'll try looking at that, but I think that only tells you if the sensor is functioning correctly. I may be wrong though.

Nope not flashing for knock that comes in at 40. Its a constant CEL light as well not like the flashing you can get with knock, it stays on for a second or so even after I lift off.

Again all help appreciated thanks guys.

It just flashes on for half a second or so on full throttle on the way past 6500 revs, only if less than half a tank of fuel. Figure that out if you can, my current mapper can't. Don't want to pay for another map though as i already have payed for this one to be done right. 3rd time of asking let's see how he gets on.
