Thumbs up power fc with new optimax

would it be ok to run a power fc on a uk wagon on the default map on a power fc if i was to use the new petrol from optimax (102 ron)

I wouldn't bother. Really needs to be mapped accordingly. From what I gather the base map is quite harsh but I am sure a mapper will confrm this.

Well the base maps in POwer FC's are supposed to be a little edgier than the standard Japanese mapping so in other words, on normal UK super you'd like as not knacker your engine fairly soon if you thrashed it about on an untouched Power FC. But if you can feed it with 102 octane fuel I can't see why you shouldn't run it for a while on the base map. The performance of the Japanese maps is purely down to the expected octane and nothing else. It's not like Japanese air is different or anything LOL

thats what i was thinking it wouldnt be for ever just until i gotround to taking it somewhere for mapping

will be fine running arond without ragging it before remapping it..... to be ultra safe just dont boot it

Just be sure that you are putting in 102 octane fuel. ALthough to be honest my WRX wagon import ran around on 98 ron Optimax and nothing else for its first seven years here in the UK with no engine problems. If you can't get the 'new' Optimax stick with Tesco 99. My Power FC is mapped on it at the moment.
