Air vents actuator
I've got a problem in that when I select the heating control to blow air to the face vents only the actuator sounds like it's being driven to far and start continuosly clicking.
I'm going to take a look this afternoon , does anyone know how to get to it?
The workshop manual is very vague and doesn't seem to have any decent drawings of it's location.

The servo's for the vent control are on the heater matrix unit.
One is on the drivers side on the unit & the other on the passenger side but underneath the unit. You should be able to get to the vent control servo (drivers side) & check the metal rod if its out of place or the servo itself is no good.

Thanks ticky, just had chance to pop out and have a look.
It seems the white plastic arm that moves the flaps about is fouling on some sort of immobiliser/tracker module that just been shoved up behind there and cable tied into place.
I do have an old tracker on the car that isn't in use so I suspect that's what it is. I'll have to take out the glovebox tomorrow and get it out of the way.
Cheers for the help mate

P.S. In the photo the problem child is the big black lump in the middle with the large cable tie around it.

Ok, quite a productive hours work has solved the problem.
I removed the tracker system and the heater actuator is no longer obstucted and works just fine.

Also fixed the rattle in my drivers door which turned out to be a bolt for the window regulator which had loosened and fallen out. Door now shuts with a good thunk instead of sounding like a 20 year old Micra.
Lastly, got a DIY aircon charging bottle and guage from halfords and topped the aircon up. It's always been a bit feeble and the car struggled at low revs with the aircon on. Anyway, now it's topped up again the air coming out is lovely and cold and the car is behaving itself with the air-con switched on.
It cost £20 for the refrigerant and £25 for the guage/filler but I only used about 1/3 of the can so I can do the same again for nought when the time comes.
Lovely

Glad you sorted it Andy
Its interesting to know that the air con gas top up has cured your low revs problem, I am having this problem with my 2nd car too. I might give it a try?
