HIya
Got a 97 uk impreza just been out and it's cut out twice. Turn ignition off and fires up straight away. Any Ideas? Could it be fuel related as i had to put Sainbury's super in last night cause my shell garage was closed?

Could be various things, a few ideas for you.

Fuel pump or wiring
loose fuse
cam or crank sensor
loose connector around engine

has it just started doing this?

Basically have a good look round the car and try to eliminate things, intermittent faults are always the fun ones!!

 

Hi is it high mileage, if so there is a switch on gearbox (neutral switch) these if faulty can cause similar symptoms to MAF & Idle Control valve malfunction and is £30 where as MAF on 1997> can be £300 and nearly same Idle valve.
