I've got a 95 WRX and after doing an ECU reset the car feels totally different and is boosting so better and the the engine is so much smoother....then the Engine Check light blinks with no faults and i turn off the ignition and leave the car for a day or so.
Next time i drive the car is goes back is it's usuall self Not that it's bad any other time but it's noisyer and isn't anywere near as quick and the boost isn't as strong and the car somtimes hesitates(i havn't got a gauge yet but i can tell). The car after the reset is so eager to just drive off the line and rev happily were as the after it feels sluggish low down and is a bit of a chore before say 3K.
Now am i right in thinking after i've reset the ECU the car is detecting somthing when i turn the key (eg low octane) and limiting itself in any way?? Now i always use optimax but don't use booster so is it somthing to do with the fuel or am i missing somthing???
Do i need another ECU and map it for UK fuel and up the boost a tad?
Any advise welcome
Alan
