Right I had same problem with mine a few weeks ago. This is the advice I was given and it was spot on
If it wont start...generally when hot and has been left for a short period of time...disconnect and reconnect the 'crank sensor'. Try starting the car. If it starts it needs a new 'crank sensor'.
If it still doesn't start do the same with the 'cam sensor'.
If it still doesn't start I aint got a clue.
Mine was a faulty 'crank sensor' and every time it wouldn't start I just quickly disconnected and reconnected the plug and she fired up straight away. I fitted a 2nd hand one and she has been fine since.

Phil,
I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, turn out that the grounding for the starter motor needed to be sorted. Just removed the connectors cleaned greased and reconnected. Never been a problem since, although the starter motor is a nightmare to get to.
