Default Does it matter

Hello people,

I was wondering how much it really matters about the seal on the intercooler. The reason is av justs takin the cowling off the inner bonnet, because av had a v3-4 intercooler fitted into a v2(95). There looks to b load more in-take, due to the angle changes ov intercooler. If anyone has made these changes without changing the bonnet (which is alu) grill and lights please tell me how?

Yes you should put a seal on of some kind.. otherwise all the air will miss the intercooler and not pass thorugh.. padded tape works.

It's real import that the air deflector seal mates with the cooler. Any gaps around this seal just allows the ram air to be feed into the engine bay and not on top of the cooler where it's needed most.

Over the winter months i removed my slanty tmic and replaced it with a much larger square mounted top mount. The original air deflector was modified so that the air was then guided onto this new cooler of mine. Working in the aviation industry i used a few seals from fly control surfaces and a mixture of stainless and aluminium with various fixings to assemble the whole lot together. If i may say so myself its so much better and much more efficiant than the original. So much so one or two have asked whether i could modify there's. Praise indeed.

Version 2 STi by the way.
