NRV could someone check for me - Classic
Hi, seem to be getting a really high amount of pressure in the fuel tank, i know temps are up but anyway thought i would have a quick look.
Carbon canister seems fine and breathable, vent line from tank is fine however the NRV in the vent line located about 2" from canister (middle pipe) will pass air with no restriction going against the arrow, if you blow the same direction as the arrow you have to blow quite hard before it will open and let air through.
Seems to me that it's the wrong way round, currently arrow is pointing to canister as it should.
Would be greatfull If someone could give their's a quick check.
Thanks.

Sounds to be on the right way around.. allowing air into the tank as the fuel is removed and air out only if pressure gets high.. You can run without one though.

It does kind of make sense, although i do get quite a lot of pressure build up, can sometimes hear the tank pop when i first pull off if it's been stood in sunlight all day.
I thought the fuel cap vented inwards to allow fuel to be used?
Criss, the NRV is a tan/black unit on the carbon canister middle pipe, canister is located under bonnet just to the left (as you look in) of the radiator.

Thanks vessy, found it with ease! Mine seems to be ok, I get the whoosh sound when I fill up and remove my cap, no so much when its cold, but when its warm. Probabley due to the heat expanding gasses!
