Default Walbro 255 on a newage - need a regulator?

Does the fitment of a 255 pump on a newage require a new regulator ?

I fitted a new reg. on my classic, as I'd heard that the new pump could overpower the oe regulator - is this still the case on the newage cars ? (02 STI UK) ?

If so, whats the standard fuel pressure on the 02 STI (For pre-map setting) ?

Cheers,

Mark

You will need a map mate as it will be supplying far too much fuel now.

Frayz - I haven't actually fitted it yet...

In fact, I've not even bought one.....

On the classic, I bought them together and fitted them together - just before going up to see AndyF. I'll be doing the same this time on the newage, but I'm not sure if the new regulator is needed on the newage or not.....

The reg is not NEEDED but it will help, it will give you better atomisation and a cleaner fuel delivery.

Best ask Andy what he thinks if he is going to map it,

Bottom line, no you dont NEED IT, if you have the cash get one
