Default Cambelt Question

A trainee Subaru Dealer, mate of mine, told me that some imports have different cambelts to some UK cars ?

they have more/less teeth. he backed this comment up by saying a lad that worked at the same subaru garage who owned a import WRX, not sure on year, tried 4 different belts before he found the correct one?

Is this true. I fitted a UK Impreza Cambelt to my Dads Legacy twin-turbo import and it was fine, now i want to do my MY93 WRX and don't know how to find the correct belt.

any one?

When I bought mine it was listed as fitting all classic scoobs up to version6 and had no probs fitting it to a '99.
