Default What intake/filter for TD05-20G

Just wondering what intake pipe work and/or filter is recommended when running 20G's.

I've heard the surge problems are usually related to this choice so whats working for you?

Its for a 2.0 03WRX which will be aiming for 400bhp on 800cc's and large TMIC.

I use a large Green cone filter mounted to a custom made stainless adaptor plate (Link ecu so no MAF ) that's fitted to the std corrugated pipe and then a Samco inlet pipe, all seem to work pretty well without any surge issues.

800's for 400bhp a bit of over kill? Or are you trying to future proof your fuel setup??

Thanks mate, looks very tidy.

I'm starting to know how my brain works now so future proofing is always wize. I got a nice standard 03 because I was fed up blowing engines on my constantly modded classic. Hasn't lasted long though and will probably be a 2.35 or 2.5 going in in a few more months.

Anyone else got an opinion on this? Whats the standard one like? Does it need binning?

Standard one is OK I reckon. You might not get 400 BHP on a hot day on a realistic dyno on Optimax on a TMIC out of a TD05-20G anyway.

Cheers John.

The intercooler (A Hyperflow jobby found here) is a bit of a concern but it was a freebee to try out so thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm hoping it'll max out at 400'ish but improve spool over a FMIC.
