Slight missfire on 2000STI
Im pulling my hair out now. I have a slight missfire on tick over and on light throttle.
If i connect a strobe light to plug leads 2 & 3 I detect the missfire. The other plugs fire fine. I've replaced the leads and replaced the plugs and replaced the coil pack. Still miss fires.
I understand that the system works on the lost or wasted spark system so the front cylinders fire together then the back fire together.
Ive connected a volt meter to the signal wires and obtained 3.2 Volts on 1 wire and less than 1Volt on the other. WHY?
I have checked continuity on the wires back to the ECM and they are all less than 0.4 ohms. I have borrowed another ECM and guess what? It still miss fires.
So I am now thinking that something is happening that is making the ECM give a low voltage. Could the cam sensor cause this? Please can someone help?
