Default How much power? - induction plus full decat.

What kind of power should I expect from a MY93 WRX with an induction kit and full de-cat exhaust? I'm planning on remaping it at a later date but I just wondered how it would run for the time being.

Also is the lambda sensor definetly in the exhaust manifold on all MY93's?

Really? Is that because I'd need to remap to suit the exhaust and induction? Most exhaust manufacturers quote 25-30bhp. I never believe those claims though so I thought I'd see what other people have found with a similar set up.

i used to run my 92wrx with a full decat and induction kit (had a standard exhaust before I put the other on. The turbo did spin up quicker and the car felt livelier, but not a great deal more powerful if you get what I mean. Also in winter there is a chance of overb oosting slightly and hitting the fuel cut.

For the sensor as well it should be in the headers on the drivers side, not on the actual exhaust. You will have a cat on fire sensor in the downpipe, but this can safely be removed//disconnected and it will not throw up a cel.

I obtained a massive 7 bhp when I put a de-cat on my '93 Think the torque was up something like 15 ft/lb

Hope this helps, heres me dyno-sheet from TEG:

Revolution D/P
Magnex 2.5" D/P back exhaust
K&N panel filter
GReddy Profec boost controller.
2C crappy ECU

That printout is from the first run tho, it was over boosting on full power run which was aborted.

Should be better with the Z4 thats fitted now.

You can gain near 20bhp by just running on Optimax over normal unleaded...

And the sun is green etc....

As far as I'm concerned all rollers lie in some way or another. Power isn't too important, how it goes is much more useful

My 1st Scoob was a '93 WRX. I had a K&N induction, Scoobysport Up-pipe & down pipe & HKS decat exhaust. This gave me a healthy 270+ bhp & more torque, proven on the dyno. I dont have the precise figures now though as these were with the car when she was sold on a couple of year back....

All gave a good, responsive power delivery & I had no problems with her at all...

dont belive the over optomistic manufactures claims, they are never even close. i used to read max power/fast car etc. they tested exhausts, filters, all sorts against their claimed bhp increases. none of the products, even the top name brands, came anywhere near the claims. the decat will make to turbo spool faster, and feel alot livlier, i'd be happy with that mate.
