Default Stupidly simple question

I have got a Carbon Fibre type gear ****, bought for a Classic but I am told it should fit my Blobeye. I tried taking the old one off yesterday, undid it loads and it did get loose but didn't seem to want to come off, it looks like it might extend into the leather cover. How do I get it off?
Thanks

They pull out of the leather with a little bit of force.

Does the blob eye not have a pull reverse? if so dont think it will fit.

The gaiter is clipped onto the bottom of the gearknob.

If you hold the gaiter at the top hard, and bend the gearknob sideways it will pop off.

nb only STI 6 speed boxes have pull collar reverese - so yes the **** should fit (unles you have a STI 6 speeder!)
