Apexi power fc + commander
Hi all,
Currently i have a 1993 wrx import with decat green group n panel filter and a chip fitted (by kim hathaway).
Would there be any point fitting a power fc + commander and then gettin it mapped. I live in Northern Ireland but will be over at the Ultimate Street Car show in santa pod in August so could try and arrange remap while im over.
I can get a brand new power fc + commander for £399. from Japan.
Any info would be very helpful.

worthwhile in my opinion. Makes a heck of a difference over standard, however if you already have a chip on there you may not get a massive improvement. Suppose it depends on how aggressive the map is on your current chip.

I have just had MY95 WRX mapped by Andy F. using a PFC. My only mods are decat, Nur Spec R, Walbro pump, FPR & panel filter.
The difference after mapping is unbelieveable. It is a different car now. Feels far more refined and pulls so well.

at the minute its running around 16. psi with the chip so it does pull hard. Just thought i might get a bit more out of the car with a power fc and abit more reliable.
Does anyone know where andy F is based and what he charges.

He is in Port Seton, outside Edinburgh. Unless he has increased his prices very recently, its £240 plus VAT to map your own Apexi PFC. Subsequent map tweaks are charged at an hourly rate.

fitting a power fc will sort out overboosting (well it will possibly boost higher but you will have the fuelling set to match it)
I run my power fc with and avcr boost controller and that does a good job at controlling the boost and it allows easy adjustment as well.
