SC450 turbo setup on my 2.5L via Scoobyclinic!!
Well, after alot of troubles trying to get my new 2.5L engine sorted, I've now gone down the "change turbo" route to finish the job once and for all. Scoobyclinic have been excellent and could see I was getting p***ed off with the problems - they did they upmost to sort me a setup that would get the power I wanted and keep me happy on price.
Although I'll be skint now for a few months, she's be a beast of a car, a finished item and I'm sure, with hopefully collection today, I'll be over the moon with performance.
I'm looking forward to see what the setup will be for power figures as Scoobyclinic quote 450/480 and I've got Piper 285 profile cams and water injection to add to the mix...will be interesting!!

Slight delay on final figures as although turbo fitted saturday morning, Pat (the mapper) couldn't complete the tune on the rollers. Should be done sometime this week.
Its looking good though, as guys did quick road test and said she's spooling hard from 2400/2500!!

lol, dont worry, I was the same many many moons ago. Just to explain intercooler water spray is a spray mist on the outside of the intercooler to cool charge (turbo boost) temps before they enter the inlet manifold, but water injection does the same thing via a very fine mist sprayed INTO the intercooler pipework or inlet manifold itself, ie the spray mist actually enters the engine, its internal. This controls det and flame front etc, allows more bhp.

Well, just collected her today (although almost died on way upto Scoobyclinic with the weather - couldn't see two foot infront of you on the motorway!!) Blimey, these guys have fitted a ballistic missle to the back of my motor!! Even with the car fitted with coilovers etc she now squats like a good un as the motor tries to rip your neck off!! 1-2-3 gear changes are instant...instant as in, soon as put your foot down you need to change gear - all very manic and great fun!
Power figures are 440bhp, but that's due to me...I've not managed to fund an aftermarket ecu from SC but will be heading up there again when I've got more cash to splash.
What can I say about this turbo - spool on road (although rollers showed 3800 revs) with about 1 bar at 3200 which I found amazing! Full chat is about 3800 and it just keeps going on and on. Power slides, just try to stop them! The car actual starts its manic spool process from 2300 ish which is impressive with a turbo of this size.
Plenty of potential in her yet and I'll be back for the ecu mods next year I hope once I've learned how to control the existing power!!

sc450 upgrade
Call me the Necromancer.
Well I googled it and this thread came up when enquiring about SC450 Upgrade. 9k is alot of my savings to spend on a whim.
So I am new here and want to be sure if I look after it it will last and not create problems and more money.
If you know anyone who had it done was it reliable?
I would apprecitate advice. I am not sure about the semi paddle clutch. Twin plate clutch is different and better? Just know the 2.5 litre is what I want to get that kind of torque safely.
And curious if my gears will need to be chanved to the PPG Straight cut gear kit? Cannot I use my old ones until the end?
Thanks.
