Default Engine Coolant Fans

Hello, I'm a newbie!! I've got an N-reg Subaru, (not a Turbo), the engine coolant fans not working, Why?! is this common, we think it's contolled by the injection computer, does this activate a rely or something to turn the fans on?

there is a sensor within the cross pipe, whcih is the ally pipe under the inlet manifold that crosses the engine and contains two sensors (this is assuming it is same as turbo) and the one with most wires and a nice plug is used by the ecu to turn the fan on.. however have you checked the fuse and the relay?

You can also try connecting the diagnostics plugs under the dash, the ECU will pulse the fan on and off while the ignition is on and the engine is not running.
