Info. + Spec for shimming post 1997 Valves
I want to check and set the valve clearances on my 1997 V3 Sti. I have been told that these are set by shimming. Anyone know where I can download the info on how to do this, There was a US STi Manual site but I can't download the details anymore.
Thanks

8 thou inlet 10 thou exhaust
The shims are under the buckets.. need to have them fitted etc and measure the clearance and then change the shim to correct it if needed.

Slight, on topic, hijack.
My UK '99 Turbowagon, 36K miles. Service schedule says check valve clearances at 4 years/ 60K miles. I haven't done this as engine runs same as always, no noises indicating valve problems and I didn't want to disturb non leaking camcover gaskets.
Anyone check clearances on the service basis?
