hi have whining whilst going in 1995 wrx (jap import) sounds a bit like power steering pump (but not) or fuel pump (also not). doesn't do it when not moving!? also have a slight leak of brown fluid?

 

I had a similar thing with mine fella. Gearboxes whine on scoobs so check the level on the dipstick behind the intercooler.

If not look for steering pump leaks as the o rings are prone on these. Topping reservoir up cures this temporarily
