Default Downpipe / System size question

Does having a 3" downpipe that is flanged at 2.5" connected to a 3" system cause any negitive effects? I've been told by someone that it can lose power although just called powerstation who said that this is rubbish and ideally a 3" throughout is the best route.

I am almost sure that is better the same size in all the pipe.

For 280 HPs VF35 at 15 PSi wich would be the better option: 3" from the turbo to the Muffler?? 2.5" ?? i am still with the oem 2.25" i think (but, without cats).

what size would you recomend?

Cheers

At higher power levels a 2 1/2" bottle neck may cause a restriction. If you are aiming at 350 BHP+ and you have not yet bought a system then get a 3" one.

Nothing worse than having that nagging doubt that if the car is not producing as much as it should be, then it may simply be because of the bottle neck.
