Default Swapping diffs

I have a 99wagon with a version 6 sti gearbox and rear diff. I was wondering if I could put a uk rear diff straight on? are they they same ratio or will this blow

give me your box code and will tell you, if it a import box ratios will be different ,,, if it a uk box it will be ok uks use 3.54 imports use 4.44 or 4.11 i think ,,, auto uk `s use a 3.9

if its a v6 sti box then it will most probably have a 4.44 rear diff............

your UK car has a 3.54 so no go...........

Hi, the code of the gearbox is HC-TY754VBAAA. The diff thats on there at the moment is the matching diff to that box. and the diff that ive got spare is a uk 99.

As stockcar said. Sti box will be 4.11 or 4.44, UK will be 3.54

Thanks for your help guys

Its not as bad as I first thought though. I heard a big bang and a knocking noise from the back of the car and thought it was the diff. It turns out to just be the inner cv joint on the passenger driveshaft that has broke.
