why remove air con ?

They remove it because it is heavy and they want their cars 0- 60 or 1/4 mile time to improve by about 0.2 seconds , Fair enough if its a track car ,but for the road i would rather have the aircon!

And tbh I wonder if having the aircon on low recirculation, keeping the cabin cool during the summer, isn't actually a lot more fuel efficient than having to drive around with the windows wide open in a vain attempt to cool down the interior? Not so much an issue at the moment, but once it really starts hotting up...
I wouldn't even consider a car without it nowadays and when I bought my Scoob it was the first thing on my list. If I was that worried about 10 or 20kg of aircon system weighing me down on track, I'd be better off putting myself on a diet first LOL
