Default Only boosting to 1.0 bar

I noticed today that my STi Type R will only boost to 1 bar hold it for a couple of seconds and tail off to 0.5 it was mapped a few months ago with the following mods,Apexi power fc,gruppe s headers, helix flexi up-pipe,3" decat,K&N induction kit,SX FPR (3 bar atmos),walboro fuel pump, hybrid fmic,550cc injectors,TD05 big 16G.Since that remap all ive changed is the turbo to a TD05/06 20G the car hasnt been mapped for the new turbo yet but im sure it should still boost to the same pressure as the old turbo was mapped to........no?

Is there anything in particular to look for that would cause this boost loss

cheers
Daz

Had a similar problem with my PPP'd MY00, didnt quite reach its max peak boost then just dropped off turned out to be a dirty boost solenoid.

If I changed to a turbo that was flowing more air, I would certainly be keeping the car off boost until I got the car mapped properly. All you need is a boost spike and the engine could pop.

Are you using the standard induction hose or a silicone hose on the turbo?

using the standard hose,as aftermarket induction hoses apparently cause boost creep

Could be a weak actuator aswell.

Would a weak actuator cause boost creep?

Its only just been serviced by AndyF so unlikely that its the actuator, and the MAF voltage reading on the commander is indicating that that is also ok,but its getting mapped in a couple of weeks so i will see then

no problem Daz.. I have a 3port in the car and tend to keep one in stock just in case.. so we can fit it when mapping if we need to.. hopefully it will work fine on the current set up but at least that avenue is covered anyway.
