Old style dash swap for new style dash ?

Old style dash swap for new style dash ?
Can the old style dash be replaced for the newer elctronic ones, or is it 100% no chance, i would of thouhgt no, as the older one seems to be mechanical with the milometer etc, but you never know

my mates got a 93my wrx and before he bought it it had the whole transformation to new shape dash/bonnet/grille/bumper/lights etc so it can be done but i wouldnt want to attempt it unless i had a few weeks off work lol.
