Does it change with road speed or engine speed (revs)?? A noise that changes with engine speed will indicate a problem on the input side or in the box and a noise that increases with road speed will indicate a problem on the output side or one of the diff's.. Or even a wheel bearing..

noise appears to not get worse at speed or with engine revs just stays the same
