Following successful painting of horrid orange grills am going to get my m8 to do the door mirrors and mounts.
How do they come off - I can see the mirrors have three screws so I assume you just undo them and the mirror housing comes off - what about the bit they screw onto ? Is it normal to color code that bit ?
And if so how does it come off ?

Thanks for all that the housings come off fine but ...
and this is really getting rather irritating ....
Where does the mirror power cable disconnect ! If its under the door trim -- I cant seem to get the door trim off - I;ve undone all the screws, under door lock, below handle under prise off cover and the one on the left hand side but.
Or is it a case of cutting the wire and reconnecting - seems a bit drastic...
Need to sort this today as if as my m8 is going to get paint tomorrow and I was going to take the petrol cap cover plate of so we can get a spot on match.
Help ....
Marbles are getting really lost now !

The trim *should* come off quite easily.
You seem to have got all the bolts - have you prised up the window switch pad & disconnected the wires there?
Also the door trim "hangs" on the metal of the door at the top - well it more than hangs as it has clips too. Therefore you need to make sure all the push-downs around the edge are undone & then push up the trim from the bottom.
