Thumbs up Helicopter noise

Hiya,

When doing 85MPH+ (on a private road) there seems to be an awful lot of noise from car (sounds like a helicopter!) any ideas?

Cheers.

I'd check out your wheels, hubs, geometry etc.

Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing...

Unless you have a stalker with a helicopter

I had a very subtle (but similar) noise at 89 - 92mph, it's had a service (at API Enigines) and I haven't heard it since.

The noise did seem to come from the rear (no cheap cracks - Uh)

Good luck.

Check your rear bumper fixings near the wheelarch, if they are slighly loose they buzz a bit at high speed.

Did it sound like Airwolf? could be a dump valve in that case

As the tyres have worn on the Mtsi they generate a hell of a noise - whirring noise as this happened i thought it was a wheel bearing or two, had new rubber all roud and it stopped, started again as the tyres got close to worn out.
215-40-17's two different types of tyre as well.
