Where does this connnect to? (pics)
Was having a general check around under the bonnet last night and noticed a stray unconnected hose coming from the bottom connection on what I believe to be the boost solenoid.
Here
Does it connect to this?

Yes resonator.
I disagree that the connection on the 3port boost solenoid is connected to the resonator though..
I suspect you have traced the hose into the mass of hoses incorrectly.
top connection to pressure side of turbo, middle connection to actuator, bottom connection is a vent and is connected to the resonator.

The unconnected pipe in the picture is running from the bottom of the solenoid.
I was hoping that as it was disconnected that was the reason for my backing off when flooring the throttle occasionaly. Is it a problem for that pipe to be disconnected?

excellent.. my misunderstanding the picture then.
the pipe being disconnected is not a problem with regard to the boost solenoid.. the problem will be that the hole left in the resonator will be sucking in unmetered air.. therefore the maf voltage will be reduced and the ecu will run more ignition and less fuel.

Thanks for clearing that up m8.
Any info on backing off and feeling like it doesn't want to accelerate when planting the throttle lol
That's the next thing I need to sort out now

This helps control boost spikes and IIRC has a 2mm hole in it.
