Red Line Water Wetter is an expensive option. There are other water wetters available that are more cost effective. Basically it is a surfactant which lowers surface tension to improve heat transfer.
I have not seen the reduction in coolant temperature claimed on the label, infact I have seen no temperature reduction but I believe it will help to reduce hot spots within the engine.
As the engine runs a thermostat, you could not expect to see reduced temperatures unless you were running above thermostatically controlled temperatures.
Removing the thermostat is a no no.

Don't doubting you Harvey but why is removing the themostat a no no. I had done this on my track car during the rebuild and then decided if I was to use it during the winter it would never get warm.

Removing the thermostat on a track car MAY be OK. To find out for sure, install a water temp. guage and oil temp guage. If you are not getting above 80 C water, your engine is probably not making full power.
On a road car you should not run without the thermostat. You need the quickest warm up time for the engine to run efficiently and you should not run on boost until the oil is at operating temperature, over 70 C minimum.
Without a thermostat you may never see 70 C in the oil in winter and even in summer it takes longer than most people realise, until they fit an oil temp guage.
On the Subaru O/E water temp guage, the needle does not move from 78 C to 96 C. I was told this was to stop owners worrying when stuck in traffic or on long inclines.
Even with an accurate water temp guage I have seen no difference in temps with water wetter although I still use it. If the thermostat is doing its job you can see no difference if your cooling system is doing its job.
