Default intercooler Information required badly.

Hi all,

Sorry to ask the same old question but ive searched and cant really find the answer.

What top mount intercoolers will be a direct fit to replace my standard 1993 wrx version 1 intercooler that would be more of a benifit than standard, my mods are decat system performance filter and ecu remap.

Any info would be appreciated.

Drew

Why?, the current intercooler he has on his car is not terribly efficient.
By upgrading you will reduce charge tempratures and the possibilty of det,
horsepower is not the issue, but reliability.

A worthwhile upgrade it would be, the biggest problem is that you cannot
get a direct replacement due to the slanted design of the original, it can
be done with a bit of knowledge.

Try getting in touch with one of the experts on here, such as Andy Forrest,
Paul Balamire from Zen Performance, Harvey Smith etc.

You could even give David at API a shout to see if he has had a request for
this conversion

Rob

The larger face lift TMIC goes on with a little bit of work, you need to have the dump valve hole leveled and tig welded up, then a new dv outlet welded on the other side (drivers side).. You then need to make up some new brackets or modify the existing ones.

As said STi V fits but needs a little "modification" to the bulkhead, and the dumpvalve outlet covered.
