Default Help please.. a weird one

Hiya i have got my car all running and back on the road. I have just covered 200 miles on the new engine and have now got a weird problem. I live near bath and there are a couple of long hills. Not overly steep but go on for about half a mile maybe more. Whenever i now drive up these hills, when im reaching near the top the check engine light comes on????
As soon as im over the hills and switch the ignition of and on the light goes away.
I used the instructions on here for checking the engine codes and i didn;t get anything (plugged ther green connections together and also the black ones (although i do have 3 balck connections.. 2 fit together and the other one i have no idea about. The 2 that i put together have one spade connection inside)) When i tried this method it sounded like my fan kept turning off and on.
The only slight problem i have noticed with the car is it sometimes starts to idle a bit high.. About 1.5k and then gradually drop back down. It only occasionaly does this though.
Does anyone have any ideas about this as i haven't got a clue what to do now and im meant to be driving the car back to where i'm staying at the moment which is 120 miles away.
Any help even suggestions really appreciated. Thanks everyone in advance
Pete

simply connect the 2x black single spades together and your CEL will flash..............count the code and go from there

Out of interest, what was the cause of the re-build??,as if you have a dodgy maf sensor that blew the old engine then it could be the maf affected by the high altitude at the top of the half mile hill, not too sure if the check engine light picks up a fault when running too lean, just a wild guess really.

i tried connecting the black spades and didn't get any codes.. cheers for the advice though.. the old engine blew from running too lean as a result of powerstation not doing too good a job at setting it up!! it only lasted 20 miles after it left them and was diagnosed afterwards.. the maf sensor is fine i think though
