I've had my Yr 2000 Impreza from new and only done 34k miles, and I've put off getting the cam belt changed. I'll have to do it sooner or later but I bet its still in good condition..... any experiences of how long they actually last??

im sure its 45k or every 4 years (which ever you reach first) for your car mate.

 

Maybe its time then.....

 

Only costs around £200 at main dealer so well worth the expense....

 

It used to be every 3yrs/45K, but they changed it to every 4yrs/60K. Well, that's what my Dealer told me.

Part is around £100 and I think it's around a 3.5/4hr job.

Yep the service interval is 45k/3 years but they will last longer, but weather or not you want to take that risk is the question

 

On a MY00 I think it's 4 years / 60k.

Mine's a 00 and I got mine replaced last month (27k).

Usually worth getting the tensioner belt done at the same time - £120+ for the belt itself but no extra labour.

 

Dont forget to check out the idler pulleys to, if one of those fails your in trouble.

 

Not so pricy after all then thanks -will get it done next service.
