My bugeye WRX started doinig this after changing my backbox, centre section plus remap.
It wasn't storing errors in the fault log long enough to get them diagnosed so I bought a PSi3 data monitor to help.
So far it's logged a Misfire (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and a Camshaft Position Sensor Curcuit Malfunction.
If you've removed any cats or changed your back box, you are quite likely to get an Exhaust Gas Temperature warning but it's nothing to worry about, (only WRX's have this sensor, not STi's IIRC), you can put a resistor (12v IIRC?) across the EGT sensor lead which will stop it coming on again.
If it's not the EGT it could be any number of things, depending on any mods you have? It could even be bad fuel......
