Hi everyone i have 1994 sti limited edition and my gearbox went bang and locked up can anyone tell me where i can get another one cheap?or rebuilt.

Put an ad in wanted? You'll need to find out what rear diff you have and get one to match though.

I was told the number on the starter motor has got to match up?is this right.

it will be on the gearbox on the starter side, look about as i dont think you will miss it ! it will start TY----- . when you find it post the code on here and someone will tell you what diffs your running (hope they are standard)

2nd - 2.060
3rd - 1.448
4th - 1.088
5th - 0.825

there your gear ratios

and your diff is a 4.11 (make sure you get the right one)
