Default smoking from engine bay

Hi all, had the cam seal done on my sti the other day took it out and it was still smoking, looked in the engine bay and there was a metal flexi hose underneath the air flow meter which was broke, at least the metal bit was, and smoke could have been coming from there, any ideas???

Usually cam cover gasket.
That drips onto the top of the exhaust heat sheild.

The only metal flexi hose I can think of is the heat sheilded powersteering hose.
If it's just the corrogated heatsheild that's ripped then nothing to worry about.
Underneath that the hose is made of rubber, you'd soon know if that split.
