Default dieing reves

When i rev the engine and then let the revs drop freely the carry on dropping to about 100rpm 4 a split second then kicks back up never stalls but does get very close any ideas?

100rpm??? theres no way itll turn over........

revving it letting go and dodgy idle speeds usually lead to clutch problems but im no expert......

just putting in ideas since no1 has replied!

Cheers it only seemed to have started since i had the air box off, cant see any leaks tho

have you disturbed the MAF sensor - dropped it or anthing like that?

Symptoms sound like a knackered MAF. Why take the airbox off - you fitting an induction kit.

Has not been dropped, yeah was going 2 change but didnt fit so put it all back. has a blitz bov. but have only notice after taking off the box

What model impreza have you got?
Could well be the maf if its only happened since you taken the airbox off..
Either that or coils, plugs, or maybe idle control valve

Would checking ECU Via the diagnostic test show a faulty maf? maybe try that..

Best thing to do then is as been said..check your ecu for fault codes..
Connect the two jumpers together under the steering wheel ect...

ok will do. checked the maf by unplugging it while the car was running and it stalled like it should
