Blown Engine!!!
GRRRR
Started up last night drove a short distance not even warm yet and heard a small noise similar to the cat converter heatshield being loose (thought whats that) too late pulled up at side of road to find conrod had made mince meat of my block. Its been a great car 47K on the clock (ver 2 sti) was first owner in the UK and was remapped by Scoobyclinic... and what a great job they did. So thought I had done everything to stop this happening. BUT THE CAMBELT SNAPPED But to good to brea for spares. What are the options ? Repair ? second hand engine ? 2.5 ?
anybody now rough costings and what would you do ?

Groan!
Had the cambelt ever been changed before?
Sounds like its not just the block you need, you'll need new heads too, or valves at least .
Warrantied 2nd hand engine from the likes of API or Grade A etc is cheapest option

This was posted earlier, it might help if you are after an inexpensive replacement engine....
