LPG
GasTech vehicle conversions (www.gastech.org.uk) in Huntingdon, Cambs (my nearest) quoted me about £1700+VAT when I enquired last year. They fit a torroidal LPG tank in the spare wheel well, so there's no chopping up of the petrol tank. The system uses a multi-point injection system or something, so performance is supposed to be very similar to running on 95 RON unleaded.
SoNiCa- You might be happy paying stupid amounts of money for petrol, a lot of us aren't but still want the performance. With dual fuel, you can have your cake and eat it, more so if you do a lot of miles.

The Gas is hardly noticable if at all, as a performance dampener but you can always switch to Petrol if you want to enjoy some performace, it is the flick of a switch.
Sonica - you can be sensible and economical and then if you want to smile switch back to petrol.
I have been to London & back from the Midlands and it cost me £12 round trip on the motorway in Gas, i hate to think what it would cost in petrol !!

Has anyone actually remapped using LPG? That would be interesting. Considering ditching the WRX300 and getting an FSTi, but nowadays with performance diesels, hybrids etc I am hard pushed to stay loyal to Subaru...
I've been seriously considering getting our MY2000 turbo classic converted to LPG, has anyone actually done it and what sort of performance do you get ? we can get 330 miles out of a tank on a good run but we're talking £50 ! it'd be worth getting LPG even with the limited milage we do about 11k a year, breaks my heart paying £1 a litre for petrol and watching the dial move as you drive....i know i could just not look at it ...
If ur gonna spend that kinda money on a lpg conversion u might aswell buy a cheap diesel estate and keep the scoob for fun
thats what im considering doing and as its not been tried and tested who knows what it will do to your car
as we are all aware how sensitive scoobs are on feuling issues
