Default Turbo gauge fitting on a MY06 WRX

Hi

I've only had my WRX for a few weeks and feel the need to start modifying already, I've bought a single gauge Pod and am awaiting the delivery of my 52mm turbo gauge, trouble is I cannot for the life of me work out which pipe in the engine bay I need to cut the T-piece into for the vacume hose!!

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks
Arron

the one from the dump valve. I bought a T piece then used a bit of extra pipe to join back to the dmp valve.. you'll have to get one where the T bit is a smaler bore...

can't remember where I got mine from though...

Thanks for that, when it arrives I'll give that a go, in the meantime I'll be on the hunt for a T-piece.

Fizz

Have now fitted the turbo gauge and tapped into the hose on the dv, however at idle and normal (slow) driving conditions the needle sits at -10 to -20 psi, only when I really put my foot down does it move to +5 psi upwards, is this correct, also when I change gear the needle snaps back to -30psi and then slowly creaps up towards 0.

Thanks for the help, just a bit worried as the needle is not quite where I had expected it to be.

Cheers

At idle and low power the manifold is in a state of vacuum or negative pressure (compared to positive atmospheric pressure) hence the minus boost. When the turbo spools due to the exhaust flow at higher power / rpm will you see positove boost.

At idle on a good engine you should see 12-15hg. Hence when the engoine is off but the ignition is in the on position the guage shouls read aproximately zero.

Hpe this helps
