Default TD05/06 20G v Fuel pipe

After fitting my 20G recently i have had an issue with the fuel pipe that connects to the rail under the turbo sitting tight up against the compressor cover. Now recently i had a fuel leak from there due to a jubilee clip securing the hose not actually securing it to the rail.I have since sorted this problem and its now fine but what concerns me is the rubber hose resting against the compressor cover. How dangerouis is this? does the cover get hot enough to melt the fuel hose or is it ok.I dont do many miles in the car and after a spirited run to salisbury yesterday all seems fine when i eventually got home, but my question is how long will it last, and how have other people got round this issue

cheers

I run a new piece of braided hose instead of the OE Fuel Rail.

Can route the Braided hose wherever you like then
(Just dont attach it to the bulkhead securely, as it can be heard through the dash then! )
