Default Why so many pipes on Clutch Master Cylinder

I have been bust stripping my Type RA and noticed a large amount of extra pipework from the clutch master cylinder. It appears to go back and forward along the bulkhead rather than going straight to the slave cylinder. Anyone know why this is as a replacement braided hose I bought is about 400mm long and would replace all the pipework.

Thanks in advance.
